Obituary of Dorina Lajoie

Passed away peacefully at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in her 105th year. Beloved wife of the late Leo Lajoie. Devoted mother of Jacqueline Bouchard (late Ronald), Denise Gallant (late Ernie), Bernard (Colette and previously to the late Marilyn Fox) and Raymond (Lorraine). Fondly remembered as Granny and sometimes Nana by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Soeur Jeanne Secours, Cecile Roy (late Ernest), the late Isidore (Evelyn), the late Emile (Georgette), the late Eva Secours, the late Albert (late Aline), the late Marcel (late Therese), the late Wilfrid (late Aurore) and the late Berthe Ouellette (late Eugene). Daughter of the late Oscar and Rose Anna (née Theoret) Secours. Dorina was a former resident of Green Valley where she and her husband operated the Green Valley Pavillion for many years. She will be remembered for her kindness and love of people. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Special thanks to Dr. Adams, the staff of the Glengarry Memorial Hospital and the staff of the Community Nursing Home. Family and friends are asked to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Église Ste. Marie de l'Assomption, Green Valley at 2 pm. Interment will follow in Cimetière Ste. Marie de l'Assomption, Green Valley. Memorial donations made to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or Community Nursing Home Activity Fund would be appreciated by the family.
