Peacefully, at The Westwood Retirement Residence on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her sisters Florence, Ora, Margaret, Muriel and by her brothers Harry and Eldon. Gladys will be fondly remembered by her surviving sisters-in-law Eleanor and Georgette Barnes and by many nieces and nephews. Gladys will be greatly missed by her God daughter Sharyn Bray and her family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Westwood and especially to Tess for her kindness, care and compassion. Family and friends are requested to gather at Capital Memorial Gardens Visitation Centre, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 10 - 11 am. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment and reception will follow. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400.
