My memories of Diarmid are so strong even though we had not seen each other since the '70's. His gentle soul lives in us all.
My sincere condolences to his family.

I only knew Diarmid in the 1970's and 1980's and really only got together with him socially when we would listen to music at my friend and neighbour's house where we would meet with other neighbourhood friends. I did not know Diarmid very well at that time but we did have some interesting conversations about religion - especially about his beliefs as a Christian. I also remember visiting his place of business where he fabricated clear resin products for both commercial and private clients. It is strange how in later years I got to know about Diarmid's life through our dear mutual friend Tim who would call him almost every day from his home on Prince Edward Island. I've spoken with Tim most days going back to our childhood and Tim would often recount his conversations with Diarmid. Without actually speaking with Diarmid, I feel that I knew something of his character through the admiration that Tim expressed. In the later years I know that Diarmid suffered with health issues but Tim described how stoic he was in enduring this hardship. His insistence on not wanting to speak of his pain and finding reason to laugh with Tim defined a noble characteristic. I will miss hearing about Diarmid through Tim and I am very sure that Diarmid will be sadly missed by his many good friends.

Loving you and missing you so much, Diarmid. You were a wonderful, caring brother. May you be at peace and surrounded by those who left before you and who love you so dearly. You will always be in my heart.
