Please share a memory of Sophia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
VANDERSTEEN, Sophia (nee Dapper) Sophia Dapper-Vandersteen who was born on October 21, 1931 died peacefully at the Cornwall Hospice on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Pouwlus. Sophia had a good life filled with lots of fun and laughter, and was grateful for the opportunity she had to meet so many nice people throughout her life. She felt blessed to have such wonderful and loving friends whom she cherished (you know who you are). Sophia wanted to thank the staff at Glengarry Memorial Hospital whom have been so kind to her both recently and over the years, and in particular, Dr. Lajoie for her understanding, caring, and compassionate care. Thanks as well to the staff and volunteers at the Cornwall Hospice who allowed her to spend her last days in quiet dignity. Her excellent sense of humour, warm smile, cheerful and mischievous nature, contagious love of life, overflowing generosity, and delicious home-made soups delivered to your door will be missed and fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her most. Sophia also wanted to say, "Goodbye my dear friends, it was fun while it lasted." Condolences/Donations/Tributes may be made online at www.glengarryfuneralhome.com
