Obituary of Claire Massie

MASSIE, Claire (née Vachon) Peacefully, at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the age of 84. Loving mother of Robert (Johanna), Daniel (Jocelyne), and Elaine Massie (Cheikh). Proud grandmother of Joël (Melissa), Matthieu, Angélique (Nathan), and Sophie-Anne; and great-grandmother of Noah and Myles. Dear sister of Sr. Imelda, Sr. Marie-du-Carmel, Ovide Vachon (Fleur-Ange), Gertrude Chartrand (late Guy), and Carmelle (Marcel). Predeceased by her parents Philippe and Albertine (née Martin) Vachon; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters. Claire will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, and forever missed by all who knew her and so enriched her life and she theirs. Family and friends are asked to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 9-10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église St. Martin de Tours, Glen Robertson on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11 am. Interment, Cimetière Paroissial St. Martin de Tours.
