Our deepest sympathies to Clara’s family. We’ve known Clara only for the last few months, however she has a special place in our hearts. She was a delight to talk to, she was always so proud and happy to talk about her family and playing piano. She once told us the story about her dog walking over to her husband’s grave and laying on it shortly after he passed even before it knew where it actually was. She had such a good heart and was so full of zest. We will miss her dearly. Again our sincere condolences to the MacLeod family.

Dear Clara’s family
So glad I had a good visit with Clara in the summer at Charlie Franklin s memorial. She and I go back a long long way to when I was a young teen and her chief babysitter. She was a very positive friendly influence in my life and I loved you kids. I am sure that a happy loving mom and grandma and great grandma she was. All her facial lines were from smiling as I never saw her when she wasn’t.
Lagan will miss her for sure.
Blessings and sorry I couldn’t make it down for her funeral.

Our deepest sympathy to the MacLeod family. May all your fond memories of Clara assist you in your grief.
Clara was always there to help when I organized my concerts and fund raisers in Glengarry! What will we do without Clara? She was so talented, thoughtful and caring.
The shared times, shared memories and shared joys.....these special things will keep a loved one close.
Ed joins me in extending this message of sympathy.
Audrey.

I will miss your friendly, kind spirit, how you and Rod opened your home and your hearts to my family and I, you made us feel like we were one of your own. You were sharp as a pin especially when it came to playing cards, we lost many a quarter to you and we will never forget your laugh as we handed over our cash. You made are trips very memorable and not to mention the odd phone call we had together.
Rest easy Clara, we love you and we will miss you.
My condolences to the McBean and MacLeod family, losing Clara is a huge loss but you were so privileged to have someone as wonderful as her in your life, we feel totally blessed to have known her.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Clara’s passing. She was such a fixture as we went into the church each Sunday morning, and on any special occasion: Clara was at the organ or piano sharing her gift of music. She will be greatly missed. My sympathy to all the family.

Clara was the first person with whom I served in "team" ministry and, although I am pleased for her that she is now with R.D. in that better place, the rest of us-- especially her kids and grandkids and great-grandkids-- are bereft in her passing. And all of us are so sad to be without her in our everyday lives.
Clara and I first connected in April 1982-- when, as a newly ordained minister, I arrived in Kirkhill. She kept me grounded. One of our best moments was a day early on when I preached a "heavy" sermon. The choir rose in response and Clara played "Life is like a mountain railway, with an engineer that's brave. We must make the run successful from the cradle to the grave...." It was one of those: "Don't YOU take all of this so seriously-- WE get it!" moments. I loved her for it and for all the many more moments we were in sync-- worship hymns and choir practices weekly, monthly "Kids' Days In", special services for Christmas, Easter, weddings, baptisms, funerals, memorial Sundays, and so much more.
The chorus to "Life is like..." is appropriae to this time: "Blessed Saviour thou will guide us, till we reach that blissful shore, where the angels wait to join us in thy praise for evermore."
Clara, thank you for your love and ministry through our decade together and in the years beyond. Thank you for your ministry to the Church.
Peace and love,
Karen Hincke

I spoke to Clara just a week or 2 ago when she called full of excitement about “The Clansmen” being inducted into the Glengarry music hall of fame. She had planned to attend and was wondering if we could get together for this event in May. Cindy and I are deeply saddened to hear the news of her passing. I spent many years travelling and playing music with Sylvester, Twyla, and Clara, and those times will always be very fond memories for me. Her family was the center of her universe, and she never tired of telling stories about all of you. We share in the sorrow of your loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you. She will be missed. love and sympathy to you all.....Mike, Cindy and family.
