So sorry about a very close friends' passing. Many happy memories curling, Highland Games, stay overs at the farm with Karen and Tiny in their little trailer home, and being witnesses at our wedding will always be with us. We were very disappointed in not knowing of the services that were had for Karen, but she will always remain in our hearts. Cris and Jack

My sympathy to all of Karen's family.
She was a wonderful and much loved neighbor of my son Steve, Iris and family.
She and Harold used to enthusiastically attend various family birthday meals for Edwin,Desmond and Andrea.
I know she will be missed in the community.
Steve told me about the visitation and service. Nicely done in these times of Covid-19.
A meaningful memorial video with lovely songs.

My deepest condolences to Karen's family and friends. I met Karen 5 years ago when I was visiting my uncle Ben who was a neighbour of hers. We spent a lovely afternoon with her and she showed us around her vintage machinery. It is a fond memory of my time visiting Canada from Ireland. Adrian from Leitrim, Ireland.

To Karen's family: I am devastated to hear of Karen's passing. She and Katherine were two of the first teens that I met after moving to Charlottenburgh in 1960. As part of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Young People's, we saw each other frequently after that. Karen, Katherine and their mother were the first to congratulate me on my wedding day. In recent years, Karen was always welcoming and we talked every time that I was in Lancaster - mostly laughing about how very silly it was that after our mothers passed away, our over-reaching concern was to make certain that they were dressed warmly so they would not be cold during their eternal rest. One of the last times that I saw her was at the Maxville Highland Games, a place that she loved. Karen will be missed. She was always giving someone a ride or helping out in some way. Please accept my condolences. She was indeed a special person. Stay warm, Karen! I hope someone dresses you in a wool suit or a thick sweater!!

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Karen. She was a wonderful person and she always made time for a visit whether it was at church, at the grocery store or at the Fair. She was a great supporter for women in agriculture and she was also a great example as a hard worker on the farm. She was also a very generous person. Karen and I were bidding on the same item at the silent auction at church fund raiser at the Bonnie Glen a few years ago -- a Holstein Ontario Cooler Bag and a Stuffed Cow Toy. She ended up being the successful bidder and she came over and apologized for getting it. About a month later she had the same item and gave it to me. I think she got Kris MacLeod to put another one together for me. I often think about her when I use the cooler bag. She will be missed especially her smile and laugh. She always saw the bright side of things even though things were hard for over the last few years. I also admired the head stone she had made for Harold and I am sure they are busy sharing stories of farm life in heaven. Phyllis
