Obituary of Yolande Poirier

Peacefully, surrounded by family at Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Monday, December 23, 2013 at the age of 82. Beloved wife for over 61 years of Laurent Poirier of Alexandria. Loving mother of Francine Leblanc (Leo) of Alexandria, Paulette Poirier (David McPherson) of South Lancaster, Louyse Poirier (Gary McCool) of Florida, Luc Poirier (Bev) of Alexandria, Jean Poirier (Joanne) of Gatineau. Proud grandmother of Daniel and Christian Leblanc (Nancy), Julia and Tom Carlton, Samantha and Lauren McCool, Matthew Poirier and Jodie Poirier Walmsley (Christopher), and Justin Poirier. Great-Grandmother to Isabelle and Chloe Leblanc, and Élodie Walmsley. Survived by her brothers Nelson (Léona), and Roméo (late Rita). Predeceased by her parents Louis and Laurica (née Gauthier) Hurtubise; her brothers Louis (late Rose), Gabriel (late Yolande), Rolland (late Alma), Raymond (late Jeanine), Émile (Rita); and by her sisters Lucille Leblanc (late Wilfrid), Antoinette St. Denis (late Eddie), Germaine Lacroix (late Norman), Bernadette Decoste (late Wilfrid), and Mary Masson (late Jos). Family and friends are asked to gather at the Salon Funéraire Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 9:30-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Église Sacré-Coeur, Alexandria on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11 am. A private interment will be held at a later date.
