Obituary of Jean-Guy Chénier

Paisiblement entouré de sa famille le dimanche 11 juin 2023 au Glengarry Memorial Hospital d'Alexandria, à l'âge de 91 ans. 

Époux bien-aimé de Marthe Chénier (née Jeaurond). Cher père d'André Chénier (Francine), Gérald Chénier (Gabrielle), Sylvie Chénier, Guylaine Proulx (Brian) et Martine Chénier (Kevin). Fier grand-père de 10 petits-enfants (Gabrielle, Julien, Nicolas, Maxime, Amélie, Philippe, Christian, Véronique, Giada et Matéo) et 9 arrière-petits-enfants (Leah, Benoit, Elise, Connor, Evan, William, Henri, Joséphine et Madeleine). Fils de feu Louis et Juliette (née Prieur) Chénier. Frère de feu Denise Legault (feu Guy), feu Gilles Chénier (feu Marie-Claire), Huguette Ranger (Marcel), Lucien Chénier (Huguette), feu Réjeanne Aubin, Olive Chénier-Richer (feu Romuald), Jocelyne von Allmen (Ruedi) et Diane Chénier. Jean-Guy restera dans la mémoire de plusieurs beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, nièces, neveux, amis et voisins. 

Les amis sont priés de se rassembler au Salon Funéraire Glengarry, 580 rue Main sud, Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 le dimanche 18 juin 2023 de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h et à la paroisse Sacré-Cœur le lundi, 19 juin 2023 de 10h à 11h. Une messe funéraire chrétienne aura lieu à la paroisse Sacré-Cœur le lundi 19 juin 2023 à 11 h, suivie d'une réception à la salle paroissiale Sacré-Cœur. 

Des dons faits à la Fondation de l'Hôpital Glengarry Memorial ou à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés par la famille.

Beloved husband of Marthe Chénier (née Jeaurond).  Loving father of André Chénier (Francine), Gérald Chénier (Gabrielle), Sylvie Chénier, Guylaine Proulx (Brian) and Martine Chénier (Kevin).  Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren (Gabrielle, Julien, Nicolas, Maxime, Amélie, Philippe, Christian, Véronique, Giada and Matéo) and 9 great grandchildren (Leah, Benoit, Elise, Connor, Evan, William, Henri, Joséphine and Madeleine).  Cherished son of the late Louis and Juliette (née Prieur) Chénier.  Dear brother of the late Denise Legault (late Guy), the late Gilles Chénier (late Marie-Claire), Huguette Ranger (Marcel), Lucien Chénier (Huguette), the late Réjeanne Aubin, Olive Chénier-Richer (late Romuald), Jocelyne von Allmen (Ruedi) and Diane Chénier.  Jean-Guy will be fondly remembered by his many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. 

Friends are requested to gather at the Glengarry Funeral Home, 580 Main St. S., Alexandria, (613) 525-3400 on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 2-4 & 7 - 9 pm and at Sacred Heart Parish on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 10 - 11 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11 am, followed by a reception in Sacred Heart Parish Hall. 

Donations made to the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
